About Shelley Sinclair, Ms.Ed, LEP, ABSNP: Associate Educational Psychologist
Shelley is an educational psychologist practicing as a counselor and stress management coach for teens. She seeks to understand the barriers that prevent a student’s learning potential to ultimately guide the development of meaningful progress and success for each student. I use various tools, including the cognitive behavioral treatment therapy model, while building skills in emotional management, time management, executive functioning and/or exploring career options. Each child presents unique challenges and strengths, and each case is tailored to their needs.
Prior to joining Bay Area College Consulting, she worked as a school psychologist over the past 13 years, serving districts in the San Jose bay area region, including Los Altos and San Jose and in East Newark, New Jersey. While in New Jersey, she developed an after-school reading mentorship program, “The Ambassador Club,” which led tutors to gain an increased sense of purpose while the tutee’s benefited from mentorship and improved reading levels. Shelley also has experience teaching about the importance of a “Growth Mindset” to community college students. She also maintains a private practice in Los Altos, where she conducts psychoeducational evaluations.
Shelley earned her B.A. in Business Administration from Loyola University in Baltimore, a M.S. in Education and a M.S. in Developmental Psychology, both from Fordham University in New York. She is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) and certified by the American Board of School Neuropsychology to provide neuropsychological evaluations.
In her free time, Shelley enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons outdoors.
